About me

About me

How can work be more equitable? How can we build a workplace fit for the future? How can we make sure that work works for everyone, in a sustainable way? And how do we use technology to do so without just following the latest hype?

These are some of the things I’ve been thinking about for the past couple of years as an author. I’ve talked about these questions and some answers at conferences and on panels. I also support people and organisations who want to improve their workplaces.

My second book is out now. It’s called Das kann doch jemand anderes machen! (which loosely translates to “Someone else can do that!”). It’s about AI, technology, its impact on work and how we can make sure that the upcoming transformation is a positive one for everyone (and not just a small group of people). I wrote about our broken workplaces and how we can repair them in my first book: Die Welt geht unter, und ich muss trotzdem arbeiten? (which loosely translates to “The world is ending and I still have to work?”). It was on the SPIEGEL bestsellers list and awarded the readers’ award of the German Business Book Awards 2023.

I write a regular column about work for Spiegel Online. I have contributed an essay about work and the climate crisis for the anthology Unlearn CO2, published in 2024 with Ullstein Buchverlage. Unlearn CO2 was on the SPIEGEL bestsellers list. I have hosted the Wondery podcast Work Work Work.

Until 2021, I worked as Senior Managing Editor at LinkedIn, building and leading the News teams for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Benelux. In this role, I was responsible for content, strategy, and product development. At LinkedIn, we were constantly reinventing ourselves and our work. We developed formats and experimented with new ideas. We made LinkedIn's Daily Rundown a staple in our members' news consumption. We established the Influencer program in the region and worked closely with thought leaders from business, science, politics and the media.

For my work as Managing Editor at LinkedIn, I was recognized by German media magazine Kress Pro as one of the Editors-in-Chief of 2019. Together with my team, I was awarded as one of the Business Journalists of the Year 2019 by the German media magazines Wirtschaftsjournalist and Medium Magazin.

Previously, I worked as a freelance journalist for Süddeutsche Zeitung, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Deutschlandfunk and Deutsche Welle DWTV, among others.

I graduated from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, as well as the German School of Journalism (Deutsche Journalistenschule, DJS).

I’m involved on the board of the alumni organisation of DJS and with Neue Deutsche Medienmacher*innen, a network supporting journalistic diversity and journalists of color. I’m a member of the advisory board of D64 – Center for Digital Progress.

I've been interested in podcasts and newsletters since before it was cool. I've been writing a (now irregular) podcast newsletter since 2015. I've developed and hosted two podcasts for LinkedIn, most recently Nett Work, a show for career starters.

My mom knitted a pretty famous scarf.
